We all know the horrors and frustrations of shopping plus size dresses for special occasions. First off, let's face it. Unless you have the body of a stick thin movie star, your selection for dresses at your local department store is already limited. Most stores carry a very small selection of plus sized clothing, let alone decent looking dresses. If you do find a store with a small plus sized section, the dresses they carry are more than likely unflattering or unattractive. They probably don't fit right in the right places, and probably don't even flatter your eyes let alone your body.

The selection is there, and you will be able to find dresses made of different materials that you may not be able to find in stores! How many times have you sauntered over to the plus sized section, only to find that they are selling dresses made of stretchy spandex-like materials? Sure they are comfortable and yes, they will fit your body, but are these types of dresses flattering? Not usually. Will they make you look and feel attractive? Probably not. When shopping online, I've been able to find beautiful dresses in all styles made of silk, and other beautiful, non stretchy materials that do fit my body and that I look amazing in. When I am shopping for plus size dresses for special occasions, now I only shop online.
Not only does the internet feature the best selections, but you most likely will find the dresses depicting the latest fashions and styles online than you will in stores. Often times, the plus size rack in the department stores feature clothing styles fit more for an older crowd. I've seen styles I am not even sure my grandmother would wear, let alone for a special occasion. When you are shopping for a special occasion, you will want to make sure you feel good and look attractive in what you're wearing. Gone will be the days of wearing a plus sized dress that is stretched to your skin, or looks like something you pulled out of someone double your ages closet. When shopping online, you will be able to find a dress you are attracted to in your size. There will be more options, more materials, and more finds.
